Make Your Sublime Text Caret Fade in and Out Rather Than Blink

With a simple addition to your Sublime Text User Settings, you can create a phasing caret in your editor.

Sublime Text Phasing caret_style

Open your Sublime Text Preferences menu item and select the Settings – User menu. This will open your user settings JSON file. Insert the following caret_style setting:

   "caret_style" : "phase",

Save the settings file and your cursor will fade in and out of view.

Other Caret Options

The other caret_style options include: “smooth” (intermediate between blink and phase transition), “blink” (standard blinking caret), “wide” (always visible, wide caret), and “solid” (always visible, narrow caret).

Kudos to Wes Bos for pointing out this modification.
